# Pageloom Terms of Use Last updated: July 5, 2026 ## 1. Acceptance of Terms These Terms of Use (these "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Pageloom ("Pageloom," "we," or "us"), governing your access to and use of the Pageloom service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, available at https://pageloom.ai/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. ## 2. Definitions - "Service" means the Pageloom AI-powered PDF remediation tool. - "User Content" means the PDF files you upload to the Service and any output files produced from them. - "AI Outputs" means the remediated PDFs produced by the Service using artificial intelligence and machine learning. - "Credits" means the prepaid units used to remediate pages through the Service. - "Sub-processors" means the third-party service providers we use to deliver the Service, as listed in our Privacy Policy. ## 3. Parties, Eligibility, and Accounts These Terms are between you and Pageloom. You may use the Service only if you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You may maintain only one account. ## 4. License Grant Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal use. This license does not include the right to resell, redistribute, or make the Service available to third parties as a competing service. ## 5. The Service Pageloom is an AI-powered tool that remediates PDF documents for accessibility by adding structural tags. Key aspects of the Service: - Pricing is pay-per-page, payable in advance via Credits purchased through our payment processor, Stripe. The current price per page is displayed in the Service. - Credits are used to remediate pages. One Credit equals one page remediated. - File size limits and storage quotas apply per user. Current limits are displayed in the Service. - Credits are consumed upon processing, regardless of your subjective assessment of the AI Output quality. If a remediation job fails, Credits for the affected pages are automatically refunded to your account. - The Service is provided on a best-efforts availability basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may perform maintenance or experience outages. ## 6. Changes to Fees We may change our pricing from time to time. For material increases, we will provide reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect. Credits you have already purchased will not be affected by fee changes. ## 7. Acceptable Use You agree not to: - Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms. - Upload content that you do not have the right to upload or that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others. - Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code. - Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or internal workings of the Service. - Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service. - Resell, redistribute, or make Credits or AI Outputs available to third parties as a competing service. - Attempt to bypass usage limits, security features, or billing controls. - Use the Service to process special categories of personal data (such as health data) without appropriate legal safeguards, or to process protected health information without a compliant arrangement. - Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these acceptable-use requirements. ## 8. User Content and Responsibilities You retain all rights in your User Content. By uploading User Content, you grant Pageloom a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service, including transmitting it to our Sub-processors for processing. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and process any User Content, including any personal data it contains. For document content that includes personal data of third parties, you are the controller of that data and Pageloom acts as a processor on your instructions. You are responsible for ensuring that your processing of personal data in your documents complies with applicable law, including providing any required notices to or obtaining any required consent from the individuals whose data is in your documents. You represent that your User Content does not contain personal data requiring special-category protections (such as health data) unless you have implemented appropriate safeguards. ## 9. AI Outputs The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning models to produce AI Outputs. Important disclaimers: - AI Outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete remediation. - We do not warrant that AI Outputs are fully compliant with PDF/UA, WCAG, Section 508, or any other accessibility standard. You must review and verify AI Outputs before publication or distribution. - You are responsible for human review of AI Outputs and for any decisions you make based on them. - The AI models used by the Service rely on third-party foundation models and may change over time. We may modify or replace these models without notice, which may affect the characteristics of AI Outputs. - We do not use your User Content to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models, whether our own or those of our providers. ## 10. Intellectual Property We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, and documentation. You retain all rights in your User Content. The limited licenses granted in these Terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property. We do not use your User Content to train AI models, as described in the section on AI Outputs above. ## 11. Feedback If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Service, we may use them freely without obligation or compensation to you. ## 12. Payment Authorization, Billing, and Chargebacks By purchasing Credits, you authorize Pageloom, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your selected payment method for the amount of Credits you purchase. You agree to Stripe's terms and to provide accurate billing information. Taxes, where applicable, are your responsibility. The Service is a digital service delivered electronically. Credits are digital goods. All Credit purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law or as described for failed jobs in section 5. The charge will appear on your payment card statement under a billing descriptor identifying Pageloom. If you do not recognize a charge, please contact us at hello@pageloom.ai before contacting your bank or card issuer. If you believe a charge is incorrect or unauthorized, you agree to contact us first and allow us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. Initiating a chargeback does not extinguish a legitimate charge. If you initiate a chargeback for a valid purchase and the charge is upheld, you remain responsible for the original amount plus any fees we incur in responding to the dispute. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that initiate chargebacks for valid purchases, engage in refund abuse, or resell or transfer Credits or AI Outputs in violation of these Terms. We also reserve the right to pursue collection of valid charges and dispute-related fees where permitted by law. ## 13. Term, Suspension, and Termination These Terms begin when you create an account and continue until terminated. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting hello@pageloom.ai and requesting deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or fail to pay for Credits used. On termination, we may delete your User Content in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for retaining copies of any User Content you wish to keep. We are not liable for data loss after termination. ## 14. Disclaimers The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times, or that AI Outputs will be accurate or compliant with any accessibility standard. ## 15. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, even if advised of the possibility. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct. ## 16. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold Pageloom harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: your User Content, including claims that it infringes rights or contains personal data processed unlawfully; your misuse of the Service; or your reliance on AI Outputs. ## 17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Pageloom maintains its principal place of business, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and Pageloom agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally first. If we cannot, the exclusive venue for any dispute will be the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to jurisdiction there. ## 18. Miscellaneous - Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. - Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. - Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. - Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Pageloom regarding the Service. - Amendments: we may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide notice where reasonably appropriate. - Survival: provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect. - No waiver: our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right. ## 19.
